Robert Pufleb was born in Berlin, he lives and works in Düsseldorf, Germany. Having studied Visual Communication in Wuppertal and Los Angeles, he uses the medium of photography to document and investigate the exotic within everyday life, true to the motto “the secret of the world is the visible, not the invisible” (Oscar Wilde).
His photographic work focusses on urban streetstills as well as on 'poetic snapshots' of his personal enviroment.
Actual Exhibition:
"GUMBALLS vs. TURTLES"
Vernissage on April, 25th, 15 - 18 Uhr
TrinkhausGalerie | Königsallee 21-23 | 40212 Düsseldorf
open from April 13th until Mai 15th 2010 only Saturday 16-19h
or by appointment: 0178-5367616
In the area of the Ruhrgebiet and in Berlin, Robert Pufleb documented street furnishings in public spaces such as turtles, chewing gum vending machines and similar things, which nowadays have vanished almost completely. Today his typologies of former everyday items represent an unique collection of memories which live on in these photographic documents of common culture.
Since all of the images' pictured items have been demounted and scrapped a long time ago, these unique Digigraphie® prints are the only remains of the actual real items, which again transforms each of the photographic images from the series into an original.
