Internationally-acclaimed Japanese photographer Hosoe inaugurates the exhibition "Eikoh Hosoe: Theatre of Memory" at the Japan Foundation Cologne

Meerbusch, 19th March 2010. Eikoh Hosoe is recognised worldwide as one of the most important contemporary photographers working today. To mark his 77th birthday, a new exhibition devoted to the works of the Japanese photographer will be opened on 19 March 2010 in Cologne with the participation of the artist. The artist, who was born in 1933, has been producing, for over half a century, cutting edge works that have already been presented in numerous solo exhibitions in Japan, Europe and the USA. His photos have also found their way into the collections of several major international museums. The exhibition “Eikoh Hosoe: Theatre of Memory” at the Japan Foundation Cologne from 20 March to 22 May 2010 is the first solo exhibition in Germany in more than 30 years devoted to the photographer. The exhibition was jointly organised by the Japan Foundation), Studio Equis, which specializes in Japanese photography, and Epson, the printing experts.
