Hans Van Ommeren (1948). Photography allows us to condensate reality and let us leave on the realm of our imagination. Photography is one of this place where these can meet. As many has discovered, good photography comes down with a very acute way of seeing things.
The search for ever better compositions, luminance and the contrast in blacks, whites and greys, or color combinations, and the right texture of my final prints can for very long spells crowd out anything else in my mind; and as I probe possibilities I relish a feeling of fullfilment.
Most recently my challenge has been to bring out of the viewer what is not concretely there in the photography: conveying, to take one example, the sense of skin just touched by stroking finfers
